MONTH-END BUSINESS

Dear Readers..........
Today, while coming back from office at 11:45PM IST, I was really tired due to the entire days' proceedings....It was really a painful day....as it was monthend. I had a target of 6.8 Million INR for the month. I was sitting on almost 3 million till 30th of the month and had to do some 3.8 million on the D'Day........
The day started on a poor note as I got up late in the morning and had to rush to the one of the distributor's office.It was cunningly hot day in Kolkata. Had to take a cab in order to reach their on time. Somehow I managed to reach there almost on time......actually to be honest was 15 minutes late, as the lift was not working and had to reach the fifth floor with my laptop, few notes weighing almost 10 Kgs by staircase. After reaching over there, was really agonised to see that there was no electricity. I was really helpless........Adding to my woes was ....no breakfast since morning...
Somehow, I drank lots of water and asked the distributor to send somebody to bring tea and butter toast for me...He did that and after taking the pair of toast in almost one gulp...finally normalized. Distributor had to make a payment of almost 1.8Million in one single day.....but due to some or the other issue, was not in a position to make the complete payment and was almost short by 0.5 Million. We had a huge argument on that.......suddenly I checked the time and it was already half past twelve and we were not even discussing the sale for the month. I concluded the meeting by ordering him to send a personnel to our office in order to deposit the payment.After that , left that place without collecting any order.....My situation was pathetic one.........
Then I decided to leave for office, as my entire mood was rotten one.....By the time, I reached office , it was already 2 O'Clock(traffic jams in India are terrible!!!!) ....no lunch till that time...I decided to finish my lunch first. Post finishing my lunch, by three rushed to the main industrial market hub in order to meet one of the biggest distributors of mine.....The meeting was unfruitful one.....I again had a huge argument and was really frustrated...After that left for the third distributor's office and result was the same...no developments.Adding to my agony was time. It was slipping away every minute......
I returned back to my office by 7:30PM. I was feeling very bad and thought that perhaps in this month for the first time, I would go below my targets.....I had almost a pack of c......After that went to washroom to freshen myself.....Then decided to organise my effort....But time was running out. I only had 4 hours left and nearly 3Millions more were to be done....I thought for a few moments.....and again went outside to lit c....I returned to see the biggest distributor sitting alongwith the boss in his chamber...Boss was yelling on me and was asking about the episode that happened in the office of that distributor. I said to my boss that "I did the best thing". On this I and distributor again started yelling at each other related to the various issues, infront of the boss....I left the meeting....in an awesome mood.
After that I returned back and saw the time and it was running out. I grew impatient and asked that distributor regarding the final negotiation and we came to a mutual understanding of nearly 2 Million INR( I wanted him to do 3.5 Million) . I was still short by a million or so.
I then called up two of my earlier met distributors and asked them in a very political manner regarding the final liftment of materials. We came to the agreement of 1 million total . But the problem was one particular clause which was to be lifted through our portal. But it was not working at all. I was really nervous, as clock was slowly ticking by.... Finally at 11:00PM, Portal started working and did the billing JIT and finally managed to be almost 20% ahead of target by 11:30PM....The figure was magical one " 8 Million INR". In the end, I was satisfied .
But as it was too late, all the hotels were closed, just couldn't had dinner. Reached home at 11:45 PM. Ate a pack of maggi and finally lit a c...and was thinking about the entire day proceedings.......All's well that ends well....
Really it was an eventful day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's the kind of monthend we have in marketing........I am Loving and cherishing each of the moment..
